What is your primary product or service?
Animal behavior modification training. As animal trainers we truly care about pets and people. By preventing or alleviating pet behavior problems, more owners are able to keep, enjoy & live in harmony with their pets. Working individually in your home, we are dedicated to addressing important dog/parrot behavior issues in your pet’s home environment
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As the owner and lead trainer of Harmonious Households, I have had the honor & privilege of working with some of the most amazing animals & people in this business! It started 10 years ago in Maryland at the Baltimore Zoo. This is where my true love and passion for animals ignited. Working with everything from snakes to cervals, I have truly been blessed with the opportunity to enhance the lives of animals while educating the public in a fun approachable way. In Baltimore, I owe my credits to an amazing trainer, Amy Eveleth. Here, I was truly able to learn first hand how impactful it is to build, create & maintain successful human/animal relationships. Her credits, along with the animals we worked with, include features on some of the most popular talk shows today: The Today Show, Larry King Live, Maury Povich, & Caroline Rhea. In addition to being selected to host National Geographic documentaries, Amy has also worked directly with Senators, Congressmen, local radio shows the infamous Jack Hanna. I was privileged enough to participate in a majority of these experiences with her as well. I can truly say my most defining moment at the Baltimore Zoo was when I heard "Louie", our beloved and spoiled, green wing macaw, say "I Love you" for the first time. Selfishly, I had been working on that particular word for a very long time. He would often trick me by just saying "I love" followed by his witty laugh. When “I love you" came out in its entirety, I knew, by both of our reactions, that this was the path I was chosen for. 5 years later, I relocated to Tampa Florida and worked at Busch Gardens in their bird show. Consistently, our bird show was the number one attraction in the park even beating out Sheikra! What an amazing experience. Here I worked directly for an amazing man and trainer, Tim Rerucha. Wow! Talk about a man who can fix ANY animal issue. Watching Tim with the birds was truly mesmerizing. Enter “Loilta”, a truly talented bird who was not affected at all by her star status. Being on Johnny Carson twice, Jay Leno & David Letterman, this amazing bird taught me a thing or two! To conclude, I feel like the luckiest trainer in the world having had the opportunity to learn from 2 of the best humans and countless amazing animals!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
My experience separates me from the other talented individuals in my field. Besides working hands-on with press, children, adults, penguins, giraffes, & tigers etc, working with parrots really gives me an advantage. Parrots are very delicate & sensitive animals that require lots of attention, stimulation & love!! If you already own a bird, I have easy & simple solutions that give even the most frustrated & helpless owner/bird relationships hope. If you are just considering owning a parrot, I strongly encourage you to take a step back before you add a parrot to your family. Do you really have the time & patience of raising a 2 year old for 100 years? When it comes to addressing animal issues & behavioral concerns, especially in parrots, I truly feel like I have seen it all (at least most of it) and am confident in finding a creative & fun way to solve it. Please don't give up on your pets; you gave them your word when you invited them into your life.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Working individually in your home, Harmonious Households is dedicated to addressing important dog/parrot behavior issues in your pet’s home environment! We also offer pet sitting & dog exercising in our home or yours. Since socialization is the key to ensuring a happy adult pet, our ultimate goal is to have a recreational training facility where animals can play, run & learn while having fun with others.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, check, money orders, visa, mastercard. If possible, we also work with indivual financial needs and situations.
Which areas do you service?
Pinellas County. Depending on distance & desperate situations, some cases in Hillsboro Co are considered as well.

We train, sit and play 7 days a week. We understand some people work M-F 9-5, so we do everything we can to make it possible to accommodate your schedules.
